ANOTHER PINE BOUGH CARD

Hero Arts Pine Bough, Christmas card

I used the same technique as I used on this card but I used Black Soot, Concord Grape, Chipped Sapphire and a little Seedless Preserves distress inks.  The die was cut from some very sparkly, peel and stick Kodak paper that I had in my stash for ages.

ANOTHER PTI MAKE IT MONDAY CHALLENGE # 193

Friday, December 19, 2014

So much fun to make a baby card after all the Christmas cards.  I used a variety of pigment inks to blend the background of the card and even used them to color the train stamp from Lawn Fawn.  The PTI hearts were cut from a ruined spare background. I just love the way the pigment inks blend together.

PAPERTREY INK MAKE IT MONDAY CHALLENGE: CAMOUFLAGE DIE CUTS

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

I wanted to try to camouflage something other than a word die so here are my takes on this challenge. For the first card I first masked off a 4 x 5 1/4 Neenah solar white card stock and created my background using distress inks. shimmer spritz and Hero Arts white mister.  I then die cut the PTI Christmas tree and two layers of Craft-a-Board from Ellen Hutson. I decided I didn't want the tree to be too camouflaged so I coated it with Versamark and embossed in clear embossing powder.  The greeting is from Pom Pom Pals embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum

For the second card, I created a background using Viva texture paint and waited and waited and waited till it dried.  I then used the same process of die-cutting and mounting on Craft-a-Board. I then cut a frame using Simon Says Stitched Rectangles and added Wink of Stella Clear to the frame, die cut PTI wonderful words Joy out of Crafter's Companion Shimmer Cardstock Silver Starlight.  I assembled the frame, die cuts androunded off the top corners to finish.

DISTRESS RESIST PINE BOUGH CARD

Saturday, December 13, 2014

I started by stamping and embossing the pine bough in silver and then white.  I then used distress inks to create my background.  Spritzed and added die.  Pretty easy but when I attached to card base I didn't like the way the white looked so I removed the image and used the same silver embossing powder on the sides of the card base and then re-attached the image.

POWER POPPY GINGERBREAD HOUSE CARD

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Power Poppy, Christmas Cards, Gingerbread house stamp
PTI papers

I thought this stamp would make a perfect shaker card, so having watched up-teen videos on making shaker card I decided to give it a go.  OMG, I cannot believe what a disaster!
I had double stick foam sheets and thought how easy to use those but ...NOT!  I couldn't get the layers to line up and once it was down, couldn't be moved.  So I ripped it apart and decided to cut out the colored image and instead of using a scissor, I ran it through my
big shot.   Can you picture the mess?  Adhesive on die (cleaned off), adhesive impressed into cutting plate (unsalvageable) ego, bruised.

This is the mess  but I was able to save the colored image and made a simple but cute card.

Love those Viva Pearl Pens

HOLIDAY CARDS 2014 - Snowman

After I colored and cut out the image  I cut a piece of Bazzill gumball Carde Shoppe paper and used a bit of distress ink just at the top.  I then mixed up some embossing paste and mixed in some extra fine glitter.  When that was dry I sprayed the whole card with Shimmer spritz sparkle which gives a subtle sparkle (I used it on the felt).  I die cut the tree from scrap paper that I had run through a corrugator and used the Marvy Snow Marker for the snow.  I then attached the felt using Aleene's tacky glue and tucked in the tree.  The snowman was attached with 3m Mounting tape on the top of the image and Aleene's on the bottom.  This was the most difficult card for me to photograph.

CHRISTMAS CARD CHAOS

It is such a crazy busy time and I have made almost all my Christmas cards but have had no times to post a SINGLE one.  Soon, I promise.  However, here is a peek at my totally chaotic work area.
A better picture of the disaster.  Stamps and Dies on left are ALL holiday!
Copics in yogurt container are the ones I have been using and still need.
